GET TO KNOW ME

Welcome, and thank you for taking the time to learn more about me and my practice, Open Gate Therapy! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in working with adults who are navigating challenges related to self-esteem, anxiety, depression, relationships, or have other sources of stress in their lives.  My approach to therapy combines Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients develop effective coping strategies for current concerns, while also focusing on exploring the impact of childhood experiences, family dynamics, and past relationships through a family systems framework.

Therapy is often a process that unfolds over time, as it involves exploring the many layers of our lives. Our personal and family histories play a significant role in shaping how we perceive ourselves, others, and the world around us. These foundational experiences influence our thoughts, behaviors, and emotional responses in ways that may not always be immediately apparent.

Over time, the ways that we communicate, interact with others, and manage our emotions are developed through a combination of positive and challenging experiences. These patterns, though often ingrained, are not fixed. By recognizing these patterns and understanding their origins, we can gain deeper insight into how they influence our present lives. This awareness creates an opportunity for us to foster meaningful, lasting change, ultimately leading to healthier, more positive ways of thinking and interacting with ourselves, others, and with the world around us.

Thank you for visiting my page and I look forward to talking with you!
